Mourning in America
It seems every time I pass a flagpole in a public place these days, Old Glory is flying at half-staff for one reason or another.
Looking
at our TV and print media constantly dishing up tearful memorials and tributes,
someone from far away could be forgiven for assuming that we are a
culture that spends an inordinate amount of time in collective mourning.
